Shipping Policies

DVC Book Center ships orders via UPS. Shipping/Handling fees are non-refundable. All of our shipments are professionally packed to ensure the safety of your items in route.

What is DVC book center?

DVC Book Center works with textbook wholesale companies to secure additional copies of used books, or books that may not have been available during our campus buyback period. We also work with textbook wholesalers to help us buy more textbooks from Diablo Valley College students when Diablo Valley College instructors haven't specified a certain textbook to be used again the following semester. We rely on textbook wholesalers to purchase these books from students and for redistribution to other universities that are using the text. However, as there are costs involved with wholesalers, those texts are typically bought back at a lower "wholesale" rate (which are most often lower than our standard buyback rates).

How to find a specific book?

If you have a specific book in mind, you can easily find it by entering its title, author or ISBN in the global search box at the top of your screen and selecting "General Books" from the drop-down menu.

Is a used book a good book?

A used book is considered in good condition even when it contains highlighting, margin notes, or other markings (with the exception of study guides, which must be clean). However, books must be generally clean in appearance with no torn pages and with the cover or dust jacket intact.

How long does it take to get an eBook back?

eBooks are refundable within 14 days of the customer accessing the content, or 30 days after the purchase is made (without customer accessing the content), whichever occurs first.

What to include when returning a refund?

Include a copy of your confirmation email or order details with your securely packaged return. If you don’t have this information, include a note with your name, email address, phone number, and order number. Your refund could be delayed if we can’t identify the original purchase details.

Digital Course Materials

eBooks are digital versions of an entire print book. eBooks are refundable within 14 days of the customer accessing the content, or 30 days after the purchase is made (without customer accessing the content), whichever occurs first.

Hardware & Software

Bring back unopened computer hardware and software within 14 days of purchase for a full refund. Electronic Software Download (ESD) purchases are Final and Non-Returnable.

Other Merchandise

All other merchandise that is unopened and in original condition can be returned within 30 days of purchase.

In-person refunds

Just take your receipt/packing slip and return it to your campus bookstore.

Additionally, refund requests cannot be fulfilled if more than 10% of the product has been viewed or if any page (s) of the content has been printed.
