Questions on selling item

I just put my first item up for sale, it's a large piece of furniture that I am looking to have whomever the potential buyer will be pick up. What a scammer!

I get a hit on my item, I set up a meeting place, I go there, and then they ignore my messages. I wait, still nothing. As soon as I leave and get halfway home they message me back. I go back, nothing. Is this amusing to them or what?
